Acropora (a coral species) are sensitive to light and it is believed that they use colour to shield themselves from sun rays. The idea of colours being a protection serves as the main inspiration for the piece. The works "pitches" are based on algorithms created from cellular automata rules. These rules seek to replicate how corals reproduce and thereby expand the reefs.
