Uno Alexander Vesje (1989) is a Norwegian harpist and composer. Uno studied the harp at the Manhattan School of Music and the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, where he received his Master’s degree in 2014. In 2017, Uno completed his Master’s in Composition at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Uno has won numerous prizes and scholarships as a harp composer, as well as performing on the instrument. He has twice been awarded the Norwegian Art Councils Art Grant, as a harpist and a composer. In 2013, he received third prize in the International Edvard Grieg Composition Contest. Uno has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and has world premiered his own harp concerto with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Opera. As a performer of his own compositions, Uno had his international debut in Carnegie Hall in 2016. Uno has been since invited to perform in prestigious venues like the World Harp Congress, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Amphitheater and the University Aula in Oslo. Uno has released two albums with his own compositions, “Poems From a City” (2014) and “Oslo(ve)” (2017).
