Trond Reinholdtsen (Norway, 1972) lives and is educated in Oslo, Norway. From around 2002 his work took a significant turn towards a music of an essayistic character, involving conceptual strategies, emphasis on semantic meaning and critical investigation of the genre and institutions of contemporary music, coupling references to the lecture, documentary, performance and banality with a profound interest in narrative form, mathematical structure and communist propaganda, briskly discarding emotionality, subtleness and musicality on the way. For the last three years a substantial part of his artistic energy has been invested in the project The Norwegian Opra (sic). Reinholdtsen prefers solitude, but several works the last years has been made in close collaboration with the musicians of asamisimasa. He has also enjoyed working with Plus Minus, Mark Knoop and at the Volksbühne in Berlin with Vegard Vinge and Ida Müller. He has been performed in Berlin, London, Huddersfield, Darmstadt, Donaueschingen, Los Angeles, Freiburg, Leipzig, Köln, Oslo and where not?
